A short step-by-step plan for a supplier who has never taken part in public procurement in Kazakhstan. Foreign company? See also our guide for foreign suppliers.
- Digital signature (EDS). Get an electronic digital signature for your company or sole proprietorship from the National Certification Authority of Kazakhstan (pki.gov.kz) — without it you cannot log in to the portal or sign a bid.
- Register on goszakup.gov.kz. Log in with your EDS and complete the supplier profile: company details, bank account, staff and experience — your qualification is assessed on them.
- Find tenders. Set up a filter in the bot — new procurements in your sector and region will come to you automatically, from public procurement and dozens of other platforms.
- Study the documentation. Technical specification, draft contract, qualification requirements, bid deadline. If something is unclear or looks tailored to one supplier, ask the customer on the portal while the documentation is open for discussion.
- Bid security. Usually 1 % of the procurement amount in open tenders and auctions, 3 % in requests for quotations: in cash or as a bank guarantee, as the documentation specifies. Calculate it — calculator.
- Submit the bid. Upload the documents, enter your price and sign with your EDS before the deadline — after it the portal will not accept the bid. Cut the price a lot? Check that it is not a dumping price (calculator).
- Results and contract. Watch for the results protocol. The winner must sign the contract on the portal and provide performance security (usually 3 %, 5 % in requests for quotations) within 10 working days.
Before taking part, make sure your company has no tax debts and is not listed in the register of unreliable suppliers.
